The Knicks’ stock hits record high on historic NBA Finals lead

The Knicks’ historic playoff run has more than doubled the value of the parent company’s stock, sending it to a new all-time high – and analysts are optimistic it could keep climbing after Game 3.
The New York Knicks are a lovable and amazing basketball team. They won Game 1 of the NBA Finals by coming back a 14-point deficit, and scoring the last 11 points of the game. They won Game 2 by a single point. It’s great viewing. It’s too bad the games go so late. The Knicks’ […]
The New York Knicks return to Madison Square Garden Monday night, riding a historic 13-game playoff win streak with two wins from the NBA championship, but amid the excitement, President Donald Trump's attendance at Game 3 forced the cancellation of watch parties across New York City. MS NOW's "Morning Joe" panelists questioned whether Trump's attendance at the Knicks' first championship home game would disrupt the team's good fortunes. While co-host Mika Brzezinski noted the loss of organic fan gatherings and street celebrations that characterized the postseason. "I mean, people were going to party and then they were going to party outside Madison Square Garden. There were going to be post parties and pre-parties, and the streets were going to be filled with joy, and how is that still happening?"Journalist Pablo Torre, a longtime Knicks fan, worries Trump's attendance sours the game's mood. Hinting it could impact the Knicks' chances of winning their first championship since 1973.Torre criticized the exclusivity of Trump's VIP entrance through private tunnels, which is unavailable to regular fans; this, he argues, exemplifies broader affordability crises affecting sports and America. "I thought the Knicks were ours as a city, turns out none of it is ours," Torre said. "You can't even be outside. You can't even be outside, let alone inside, and so who's this for? What's it about?"Watch the video below. Your browser does not support the video tag.
Six people were hurt in a stabbing at New York City's Penn Station Sunday evening, the Associated Press reported, as President Donald Trump is set to attend Monday night's Game 3 NBA Finals matchup between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden — the storied entertainment venue located above Penn Station in the same midtown Manhattan complex.A suspect was taken into custody after the attack, which took place around 7 p.m., the AP said.'Penn Station is not known for being the most safe area, especially in the evening, especially with just how busy it’s been recently with the Knicks game [and] Trump coming.'Paramedics found one victim with serious injuries, two with moderate injuries, and two with minor injuries, the outlet said, citing the city's fire department. The AP said those five victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital, while another individual whose condition was not immediately known was taken to a separate hospital. In a roped-off area near Tracks 5 and 6, medical gloves, discarded bandages, and traces of blood still marked the floor Sunday night, the AP said.RELATED: Thug reportedly with 131 prior arrests just got charged with setting homeless man on fire while victim slept In addition to the huge crowds expected to descend upon Madison Square Garden for the first NBA Finals game there since 1999, Trump said he plans to attend the game as well, the outlet said. The president's plans prompted heightened security measures involving the Secret Service, the New York City Police Department, and other agencies around Madison Square Garden and surrounding blocks, the AP said. However, authorities did not immediately indicate if the stabbing would affect security plans for the game, the outlet noted.Sources told the New York Post that 51-year-old Hector Deleon "unleashed the unprovoked attack ... inside the New Jersey Transit boarding area."The Post said sources indicated that Deleon is believed to be homeless and was arrested in May in New Jersey on assault and narcotics charges. The paper said details of that arrest were not immediately available.Sources added to the Post that the victims of the stabbing attack were all men who range in age from 30 to 60 and were believed to be innocent bystanders.“Wow, I mean, I guess I’m not surprised, though," Sanai Rashid, 21, told the paper. "I mean, Penn Station is not known for being the most safe area, especially in the evening, especially with just how busy it’s been recently with the Knicks game [and] Trump coming. It’s been a bit of a messy summer in general. I think crime does go up as well, but I do think there probably should be more security in Penn Station, but that’s devastating.”The AP called Penn Station one of the nation’s busiest transportation hubs, which serves Amtrak, Long Island Rail Road, NJ Transit, and New York City subway lines and is used by "hundreds of thousands of commuters and travelers each day."Like Blaze News? As President Donald Trump heads to New York City on Monday to watch Game 3 of the NBA Finals, one notable person won’t be in his suite with him: NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani. President Donald Trump plans to attend the first NBA Finals game in nearly three decades at Madison Square Garden, and panelists on MS NOW's "Morning Joe" predicted he would not find a friendly reception from his hometown. The New York Knicks will face off Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs in game 3 of the Finals, which will require fans to wait in extra-long security lines to enter the arena and forced the cancellation of a watch party outside, all of which will anger the crowd inside, according to the panelists."The whole idea of we are living at a time in which everything must be about him," said journalist Pablo Torre. "This is why this sucks. There is a story, it existed, and, of course it could not last. Nothing gold can last. As I say, it existed in this beautiful snow globe of sports and city, and in comes the president, and I get it. You've got to provide security, it doesn't make sense to have the greatest party in sports happening outside, because, of course there are dangers. I'm not saying that the president does not deserve protection. It is merely that by inviting him and choosing to favor his whims over the city, you're making a choice that is frankly reflected in everything else happening in sports and life, in which billionaires get to be prioritized, fast-passed into the heart of something great."Trump has gone to a number of sporting events as president and attended the occasional Knicks home game before entering politics, but host Jonathan Lemire doesn't expect New Yorkers to welcome him back with open arms."Do they show him on the jumbotron?" Lemire wondered. "How many times do they show him on TV, and in that arena, if they do show him, what is the reception? What is the volume of boos he's going to face? It could be it could be off the charts."Author Michael Tomasky agreed."I imagine the ticket prices are going to put a few more Republicans in the seats than normal," Tomasky said. "But what's his approval rating among that crowd in Madison Square Garden tonight? Fifteen percent? Maybe 15.""It's going to be as loud a series of boos as we'll have heard," Torre interjected."I don't understand why he'd even want to do this," Tomasky added. "I know if that were me, I wouldn't. I wouldn't come close to the place and the inconveniencing of the people.""I mean, he does like to associate himself with the winner," Lemire suggested. "The Knicks are winning. He likes to be part of the storyline. The Knicks are the storyline right now in the sports world, you know, and I do think that even the rich guys who the Republicans who might have voted for Donald Trump are still, will have just had to stand in line for three hours, and they're going to be annoyed by that, too." - YouTube youtu.be
