Platner's wife, Amy Gertner, told his Senate campaign about the texts with several different women, insider sources told the WSJ. Gertner discovered the texts in spring 2025, and in August, she told an aide whom she considered a friend, while the campaign was doing opposition research on Platner, the WSJ reported.Campaign aides told Gertner that they didn't expect the messages to be a problem as it was a "private matter," according to the WSJ, which mentioned that the couple had been undergoing counseling. "We did the hard work that marriage requires. We went to counseling. We were honest with each other in ways that weren't easy," Gertner said in a statement provided to the WSJ by Platner's campaign. "Our marriage today is stronger than ever before."Platner, who's hoping to unseat Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), is already dealing with controversy surrounding his Nazi-linked tattoo, past remarks about sexual assault victims, and posts from his deleted Reddit account, which included "lenient views on infidelity," the WSJ report noted.

A foreign national arrested after “illegal biological lab” was discovered in one of their managed properties in Nevada had the charges dropped this week in what Zeteo described as a “remarkable situation,” one in which President Donald Trump was labeled an "active participant."That foreign national is 55-year-old Ori Solomon, an Israeli citizen and property manager who was in the United States on a non-immigrant visa. Law enforcement was tipped off in January after a cleaner hired to work at one of Solomon's Las Vegas properties fell "deathly ill" upon entering the garage, where "glass beakers with reddish liquid inside” and a “biological safety cabinet” they believed was a “centrifuge," was found, ABC News reported. The materials were reportedly “consistent” with those found in another illegal biolab discovered in California, including vials containing “potential pathogens such as HIV, malaria, COVID-19 and more.” The biolab in California was discovered in a home owned by another foreign national with an "extensive relationship” with Solomon, according to an NBC affiliate.Where Trump came into the picture, Zeteo's report argued, was through his appointment of Israeli-born Sigal Chattah as U.S. attorney for the District of Nevada, a position the news outlet claimed she is currently “occupying illegally."Solomon was federally charged with possession of a firearm, and state authorities accused him of improperly disposing of hazardous waste. Last Tuesday, however, Chattah’s office dropped the weapons charge against Solomon without explanation. Zeteo reported it was because of her “consistent and despicable viciousness towards Palestinians” and support for Israel.“Chattah’s office dismissed a federal charge against an Israeli arrested for illegal possession of guns, in connection with a broader investigation of a fraudulent biolab on U.S. soil,” according to Zeteo. “By itself, the situation is remarkable. But it’s also part of a broader picture that should be of great concern.”Chattah has called Palestinians “animals,” and urged them to be wiped “off the map,” describing “even the children” as terrorists. While such remarks are commonplace among far-right Israeli supporters – including from an American member of Congress, Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) – Chattah’s history, which also includes allowing an Israeli government official accused of soliciting a minor to “flee to Israel” earlier this year, painted the “broader picture” the report warned about.“Since 2003, Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed at least 15 Americans. They have brutalized American journalists, including Zeteo contributor Alex Colston, just this month. Pro-Israel interests have flooded U.S. elections with dark money, producing the three most expensive House races ever, including the recent ousting of Republican maverick Thomas Massie,” according to the Zeteo analysis.“And now, a virulently pro-Israel U.S. attorney, occupying her role illegally, per a court of law, is shielding an Israeli from justice in the U.S. legal system. Donald Trump and his Republican Party are not bystanders. They are active participants.”
