White House insiders close to President Donald Trump are quietly counseling Republican candidates to distance themselves from Trump's messaging about the Iran war as midterms approach, according to reporting by MS NOW's Jake Taylor. On "Alex Witt Reports," MS NOW's Jake Taylor reported GOP incumbents and challenger candidates are being encouraged to create separation between their own war rhetoric and Trump's public statements.The advice stems from consistent negative polling about the conflict, despite Trump claiming the war is progressing well. "They're encouraged to actually put some distance [and] space between the way Trump talks about the war and the way they do, because they're aware they don't have a winning strategy when it comes to the midterms," Taylor explained.His report underscores growing rifts between Trump and the Republican Party over the war, which Trump launched without Congressional approval.
