Pete Hegseth is hiring Trump's enemies — and it could lead to his ouster: Democrat
Source: Raw Story · Bias: Far Left
Summary
A Democratic congressman wants to fight fire with fire by turning President Donald Trump against a cabinet member who has been hiring one of the president's enemies. "What Pete has done, he claims unfaltering loyalty to Donald Trump, but then he's hiring people who Donald Trump has fired, who he's disparaged," Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) said about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a Saturday interview on "The Daily Beast Podcast."Crow grilled Hegseth during a hearing earlier in the week, and accused him of "repeatedly going behind the president's back." At one point, he focused on Hegseth's hiring of his personal lawyer, Tim Parlatore, a former Trump ally turned foe."In the case of Tim Parlatore, this is a lawyer who used to serve a lawyer for Donald Trump and his campaign, and was fired by Trump, called a liar, and disparaged by Donald Trump," Crow said. "Something bad happened with Parlatore and Donald Trump's lawyer and the White House."Crow explained to The Daily Beast that his goal was to get Hegseth fired. During the hearing with Hegseth, Crow brought up that Parlatore had an office in the Pentagon and how he was hired without Senate confirmation or White House vetting."I was in part speaking to Donald Trump," Parlatore said. "I was highlighting for the White House that Pete Hegseth is grabbing people and putting them in key political positions where they are able to make tremendous amounts of money."Crow has made it no secret that he wants to see Hegseth go, or how he feels about him. "He's worse than incompetent," Crow told The Daily Beast. "He's a vengeful individual who not just lacks the qualification, but has a meanness to him and a corruption of his heart and soul."
