'Panicking' Kash Patel straps two dozen FBI staffers into lie detectors: report
Source: Raw Story · Bias: Far Left
Summary
Trump's FBI director has become so paranoid that he ordered dozens of his own staff members to take lie detector tests, according to new reporting. "FBI Director Kash Patel ordered the polygraphing of more than two dozen former and current members of his security detail, as well as other staff," MS NOW reported on Thursday, adding that two anonymous sources described him as "in panic mode." The embattled Patel is watching his reputation get shredded under scrutiny as claims pour in about his heavy drinking and engraved bottles of booze. Earlier this week, he opened a criminal leak investigation into the Atlantic after it published a story about his drinking. Along with "former and current security detail members" for Patel, "several information technology staff" had to strap in and answer questions. Patel reportedly interrogated his staff to find out if they "have access to sensitive details about his decisions" and whether they "communicated with reporters," according to anonymous sources who spoke to MS NOW. He also avoided meetings this week with "key operational leaders of the bureau," MS NOW reported. His behavior has "been raising concerns inside the FBI about Patel's ability to stay abreast of pressing threats and investigations," sources told MS NOW. "Patel walled himself off from some senior bureau leaders this week after multiple media reports raised red flags about his leadership," MS NOW noted, citing three people familiar with his newest antics. "Two of the people told MS NOW that the director ordered the polygraphing this week."FBI spokesperson Ben Williamson declined to tell MS NOW whether Patel really ordered lie detectors, but disputed the claim that he "walled himself off." “I’ve been in the usual operational leader meetings with him every day this week … it’s false,” Williamson said. “The only people in panic are the ‘panicans’ in the media pushing out false stories."
