A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration from closing the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for repairs and ordered that it be removed from the building and its website.
The performing arts centre must also remain open despite Trump announcing a two-year closure for extensive renovations.
A judge blocked the Kennedy Center from temporarily closing its doors during renovations, and ruled that the institution's board acted unlawfully when it added President Trump's name to the building.
The decision also stops the president from temporarily closing the national cultural institution during renovations.
“Unless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else, bring this Institution back, physically, financially, and artistically, I have no interest in continuing what could only be a hopeless journey into ‘NEVER NEVER LAND,’” the president continued.
