The US Justice Department urged a federal judge to reject a request by CNN, MS Now and Politico for a court order reinstating White House press credentials for their journalists, after President Donald Trump banned them for what he deemed negative coverage of his administration.
The Department of Justice said in a court filing late Tuesday that President Donald Trump has the right to ban media outlets CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House, calling their access a “privilege” and citing national security concerns.
The Department of Justice also argued President Trump was motivated by national security concerns in banning MS NOW, CNN and Politico from the White House.
