Summary
Abigail Jo Shry was ordered to report to the Bureau of Prisons after agreeing to plead guilty to threatening U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in August 2023. Chutkan presided over the criminal case against President Donald Trump's 2020 election conspiracy. Now, Shry is on the run. CBS News Scott MacFarlane reported Thursday morning that Shry was set to serve 27 months in prison starting Tuesday, followed by two years of supervised release. But she never showed. Her lawyer has now filed a request to be taken off of her case, citing Shry's refusal to report to prison. "On February 18, 2026, the Court entered an Order for Issuance of Bench Warrant directing that Defendant be apprehended and delivered to the Bureau of Prisons. Counsel's representation in this matter has concluded. Wherefore, counsel respectfully requests that the Court grant this motion to withdraw," the lawyer wrote.EXCLUSIVE: Trump supporter who pleaded guilty to making threats against judge during Trump’s election conspiracy criminal case was supposed to report to prison this week She didn’t surrender .. and is now wanted pic.twitter.com/N18tKmenO1— Scott MacFarlane (@MacFarlaneNews) February 19, 2026
