If you’re a rich Republican — you walk': Morning Joe unleashes on GOP’s Epstein cover-up

Summary
MS NOW host Joe Scarborough on "Morning Joe" was furious when discussing former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was arrested on Thursday morning over his connections to trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Scarborough questioned how royalty can be held accountable when most Republicans in Congress refuse to do the same for their own. The conversation began when commentator and journalist John Heilemann pointed out that the Justice Department still hasn't released millions of documents, despite a law mandating their release. "I mean, imagine Mika," Scarborough began, speaking to his co-host Mika Brzezinski, "What's in those documents that are being held by Pam Bondi, who wouldn't even turn around and look at the women who said they're victims? Wouldn't even look at them!"He asked, "Do we trust Pam Bondi to give Americans information that would be negative to Republicans, to her boss, to other people in the administration? Absolutely not. Not in a million years. Just wouldn't do it."He noted a commentator who talked about protecting the rich and powerful, but added that it's more about the well-connected Republicans who are being protected. "That's what's happening here. And Mike Barnicle said, we have a two-tiered system. The rich, he said, if you're rich, you walk," Scarborough continued. "If you're a rich Republican, you walk. If you give money to the Republican National Committee, you walk. If you give $100,000 to a Republican who's running for Senate in Ohio, a sitting Republican senator who voted to suppress the Epstein files — let's be very clear — you walk," he ranted. He turned to Les Wexner, who testified before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday. Several top Republicans refused to attend the hearing. Scarborough also cited Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who, he said, lied about his interactions with Epstein after living next door to him. "If you're a Republican in Washington D.C. right now, all you want to lie about your ties with Jeffrey Epstein and you get away with it scot-free. You get away with it. Because there is no justice. There is no justice for Republicans when it comes to the Epstein files right now, because [Rep. James] Comer (R-Ky.), Bondi and everybody else is covering up," he closed. - YouTube youtu.be
