Health inspectors were not pleased during a visit to a prominent Trump hotel late last year, according to documents unearthed by NOTUS.According to a report the outlet published on Tuesday, Chicago health inspectors visited the Trump International Hotel on the city's Near North Side in December. While the location's Rebar Lounge and banquets area received passing grades, its main kitchen and rooftop restaurant, known as "Sixteen," received failing grades and were cited for a range of unsanitary conditions."The health inspector found wastewater flooding the floor of the main kitchen when three of the prep sinks drained, according to Chicago Department of Public Health records," NOTUS detailed. "A dishwasher was also not properly sanitizing dishes and utensils."The report continued: "Meanwhile, the inspector observed 'small flies' throughout a rooftop restaurant’s bar and dish area, as well as a cracked lid on the ice machine and debris buildup inside the prep cooler and on the floor beneath sinks."The hotel's manager was ordered to make improvements and given roughly a week to do so. On Dec. 23, inspectors returned and issued passing grades to both the kitchen and Sixteen, though the ice machine lid had not yet been fixed.Donald Trump's numerous real estate properties are currently operated by The Trump Organization, run by his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, while he serves as president.This incident at the Chicago Trump hotel is not the first time that the president's properties have run afoul of health inspectors recently. In November, one of his golf clubs in Westchester County, New York, was cited for “dirty surfaces,” “poorly constructed” rooms “in disrepair” and “inadequate” lighting and ventilation. Several months earlier, in May, another Trump golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, was hit with 18 health code violations and given a score of 32 out of 100. Upon a return inspection, the score was revised to an 86. The manager at this location lashed out at the initial citations as a "politically motivated attack."
