Trump threatens 10 years in prison for 'even attempted destruction' of DC projects

President Donald Trump took to social media Monday to warn Americans against vandalizing his beautification projects in Washington, D.C., threatening those who “even attempt” to destroy “such things” with a decade behind bars.“Of the MANY Statues and Fountains that we rebuilt, renovated, cleaned, and fixed, the only one that was Vandalized was the Reflecting Pool, which is being taken care of, ASAP!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, repeating a claim that’s been disputed by critics.“It has been given a 300 foot long gash, chemicals have been illegally placed in the water, and the beautiful new grass field has been destroyed with a gigantic 86 47 chemically carved into it (Probably inspired by Dirty Cop, James Comey!). Please remember that there is a 10 year prison sentence for the destruction, or even the attempted destruction, of such things - Which will be fully enforced!”Trump’s $14 million Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool restoration project has become a headache for the administration when, just days after the project’s completion, a sea of green algae returned to the iconic pool along with what appeared to be the president’s “American flag blue” paint peeling off the pool’s floor. One man was arrested by law enforcement last weekend for allegedly touching the pool’s water, the second known enforcement action in recent days.
Trump’s claims that ‘vandals’ are to blame don’t hold water so far – key US politics stories from Monday 22 JuneDonald Trump is claiming – without providing evidence – that the sorry state of the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool weeks after a $14m renovation is the work of “vandals”.On Monday, Trump was adamant it was not the pool company to blame for the algae blooms and peeling paint, instead pointing to five people arrested for vandalism and five more are under investigation. President Trump went off on reporters, attempting to deny that vandals are destroying the Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial and criticizing his repair project to fix the broken and filthy pond. Deranged liberals have been tearing out the new American flag blue sealant that lines the bottom of the pool with the intention of giving the water a blue reflection.

President Donald Trump's base of supporters is furious with the administration over the deal it is negotiating with the Iranian regime, as illustrated by a devastating supercut that aired on MS NOW's "The Beat" on Monday. Last weekend, the Trump administration and the Iranian regime agreed to a deal that would immediately open the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway that has choked the global economy, and promised to eliminate sanctions on Iranian oil. That deal appeared to fall apart on Saturday and Sunday as Vice President JD Vance suffered what some described as a "humiliation" during peace talks with the Iranians after the country's foreign minister refused to shake Vance's hand. MS NOW's Ari Melber said on Monday that the reaction to the deal by the Make America Great Again faithful shows that it is "clear what it is and what it isn't."He played clips of several MAGA fans expressing frustration and reservations about the negotiations. "Despite all the denials, the MOU is a massive cash cow to the Iranian regime," Mark Levin said on "Fox News Sunday." "Stop cozying up to and telling us that the enemy regime in Iran is now more rational, more moderate. And a regime that we can deal with. It's a complete capitulation to the Iranian regime." Trey Gowdy, a former Republican lawmaker from South Carolina, also criticized the deal on Fox News. "They're better off than they were before the hostilities began," Gowdy said. MAGA media personality Eric Bolling also chimed in. "I hate to say this. In this deal, the biggest loser is the United States and India," Bolling said during a recent broadcast of his eponymous show.
President Trump has insisted that vandals, rather than questionable craftsmanship, are responsible for the enduring problems following the Reflecting Pool's $14.7 million sealant job.
President Donald Trump's latest threat to sue a media company over its reporting was swiftly mocked by political analysts on Monday. Trump posted on Truth Social that his administration is preparing a lawsuit against ABC News over its reporting on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which has faced significant criticism because of the project's shoddy work and ballooning costs. Initial estimates for the renovation came in at around $2 million, but the final bill was for roughly $16 million, according to reports. Meanwhile, the bottom of the pool has been peeling off, and the algae Trump promised to get rid of has returned in full force."We are preparing lawsuits against ABC for false reporting. I like their money, which will be given to the U.S. Treasury!" Trump wrote in the post. Political analysts bashed Trump's threat on social media. "Discovery should be interesting," Melanie D'Arrigo, executive director of the Campaign for New York Health, posted on X.Arthur Delaney, a reporter at HuffPost, described Trump's threat as "ridiculous" in a post on X. "So he’s threatening to sue ABC News for… *not* publishing something?" Jared Holt, senior researcher at Open Measures, posted on Bluesky. "If you saw this in some random dictatorship somewhere, it would be late-night TV catnip," economist Sky Marchini posted on Bluesky.
CNN's Tom Foreman reported on escalating absurdities surrounding President Donald Trump's troubled $14 million Reflecting Pool renovation. The project, quickly plagued by algae blooms and deteriorating paint, has resulted in at least five arrests for removing damaged materials from the water. Among those arrested was David Hearn, a U.S. Olympic slalom canoe competitor and material scientist, who Foreman said merely touched loose material to examine it. Foreman questioned the logic of arresting someone for touching already-damaged material while dozens of workers regularly traverse and operate equipment on the pool. The algae remain uncontrolled despite ongoing treatment efforts, with officials now considering draining and restarting the entire project. Foreman highlighted the contradiction between Trump's 2024 promise to complete renovation for under $2 million versus the $14 million actual cost, with results no better than previous attempts.Watch the video below. Bravo to VJayBombs, the ingenious street artists who emblazoned L.A. with projections of ICE hauling off Jesus just hit D.C. to plaster “Guardians of Pedophiles" on the Kennedy Center's "literal cover-up" and murky regime minions - bats, worms, turtles - on the besieged Reflecting Pool. Growing more ideological as the fascist stakes rise, they use peaceful but splashy projection bombing to "make our voices heard," sensibly arguing, "If you're gonna say something, say something."It seems only apt an anonymous collective of renegades chooses as weapons the visual tools of their oppressors, slathering multiple regime cover-ups - like the attempted removal from National Parks of information on slavery and other historical facts that “disparage Americans past or living” - with their own rowdy retorts. Large-scale, dissident projections are part of a relatively new protest tradition, "accessible, disruptive, but not violent," that evidently grew from the Occupy movement. In 2013, using an Illuminator- like projector that came out of a car roof like a turret, one Charles Lechner projected an image of a ballot box stuffed with dollar bills onto Michael Bloomberg’s New York apartment; the Mayor, unamused, had him arrested. VJayBombs began about ten years ago when three filmmakers and neighbors in a Koreatown apartment complex started projecting abstract visuals onto nearby buildings during house parties. That pastime evolved during the lead-up to the 2024 election into "Life's Projections," peaceful guerrilla protest that "sits right in the sweet spot of all our skill sets"; they now have over 300,000 online followers and merch - ICE guy with gun: "Our humanity" - to help raise funds. Moving through group chats, location-scouting, brainstorming - what will resonate, how to highlight absurdity and communicate clearly in seconds - they've progressed from "total novices" who blew a fuse by trying to run power through a car lighter to a large-venue projector.Their goal is to effectively merge message with architecture in a story that unfolds like a digital billboard or comic strip and gets "the longest legs online - as many eyes as possible." Their projections across L.A. have ranged from No Kings messages to Matt Gaetz as Butt-Head to a spoof of Trump's endless, babbling State of the Union speech, with Trump holding the Statue of Liberty hostage amidst flashing messages of "Immigrant Bad!" and “Forget the Files!” A Super Bowl parody, "Redacted Bowl," featured Trump and cronies as football players with their stats matching their references in the Epstein files. Last week's UFC cage match became Donald Trump vs. the Epstein Files celebrating "the pound-for-pound best cover-up in history."D.C.'s besieged Kennedy Center and besmirched Reflecting Pool were logical, tempting next stops. A week after a court ruling forced the removal of the vile Trump name from the Center, the tarp hung in the dark to hide a snowflake narcissist's shame and fury from a gleeful crowd is still there, obscuring not just the spot where the name allegedly came down but the entire facade. In a June 19 court filing, Center lackeys say it's to do maintenance on the marble. Lawyers for Rep. Joyce Beatty, who filed the lawsuit behind the ruling, say it's merely a lame move to soothe "broken egos,” one that both conceals whether officials have in fact complied with the court and that reduces a once-vaunted arts venue into a "lifeless husk."Frustrated visitors to the site have their own ideas: One suggested Trump is focused on "trying to deface America’s symbols before he finishes defacing the country," and another proposed using the tarp to cover the brackish debacle that is now the Reflecting Pool. Others have simply moved on to pay tribute to VJayBombs artists for giving Trump "a lesson in the law of unintended consequences" and projecting "what we all wanted" on the Kennedy Center: A "Guardians of Pedophiles" montage of Trump, Epstein, regime toadies - Bondi, Johnson, Patel - with, "No one bends the knee like the GOP,” and a guy climbing a ladder towards the name "Donald," its letters slowly cascading down to form the word "pedo."In their weekend art spree, VJayBombs also took to other D.C. landmarks. At the Lincoln Pool, they placed in that now-sorry site a fitting array of swamp creatures: McConnell as turtle, Hegseth as crocodile, Vance as worm, Rubio as fish, Stephen Goebbels Miller a bat hanging upside-down, bald head glinting. At the DOJ, Ted Cruz popped up as a grotesque sex worker in Trump underwear. Hard to unsee, but VJayBombs argue, these dark days, it's "more important than ever to use whatever skills we have to push back." Their art "gives people a new way to engage," they say. "We all have more power than we think...Real change doesn’t come from one big event - it comes from countless small acts that, together, move the needle."
