Trump shocks Capitol Hill by canceling his own bill signing

President Donald Trump cancelled a scheduled signing ceremony for a bipartisan housing affordability bill Wednesday.According to reports by NPR, Trump postponed the ceremony until members of Congress agreed to pass his polarizing voter ID bill, or the SAVE America Act. Trump posted on Truth Social, "Today's Housing News Conference and Signing is hereby cancelled until such time as we pass the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT, which I consider to be a National Emergency," the President wrote on Truth Social. Earlier, Trump criticized those he considered to be "bad Republicans" for failing to eliminate the Senate filibuster to advance the SAVE Act, which critics characterize as voter suppression. He dismissed the housing bill as minor importance compared to the voter ID legislation. The House passed the housing affordability bill Tuesday, which would alleviate housing costs and "ban companies with investment control of 350 or more single-family homes from purchasing additional units," reports The Washington Times.Watch the video below.
