Trump official's husband barred from agency over sex assault allegations

Summary
The husband of President Donald Trump's labor secretary has been barred from entering the agency's headquarters after he was accused of sexually assaulting at least two female staffers, according to a report. Dr. Shawn DeRemer, the husband of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, has been accused of sexually assaulting the female staff members during work hours at the Department of Labor's offices. One of the incidents was caught on camera, The New York Times reported. This is not the first time that DeRemer's behavior has raised red flags in the Department of Labor. In January, the agency's inspector general raised concerns about his behavior toward female staff. Later that month, the Washington Metropolitan Police Department filed a report about an incident of forced sexual contact at DOL offices, an incident that seems to fit the description of the event that was caught on camera. Secretary Chavez-DeRemer has also made waves at the Department of Labor for having an "inappropriate" relationship with a subordinate, The New York Post reported. The report alleged that Chavez-DeRemer's "paramour" visited her at least three times in her Washington, D.C. apartment and twice while she was on official business trips.
