Trump just told on himself with 'guilty-sounding' Epstein answer: critics
Source: Raw Story · Bias: Far Left
Summary
President Donald Trump appeared to tell on himself during a press gaggle on Air Force One on Thursday, according to observers. Trump was asked by Peter Doocy of Fox News whether other associates of disgraced former financier Jeffrey Epstein should be arrested. The question came after Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested for his involvement in Epstein's schemes. "I'm the expert in a way because I've been totally exonerated," Trump said. "That was very nice. I can speak about it very nicely. I think it's a shame. I think it's so bad. I think it's bad for the Royal Family. To me, it's a very sad thing ...""It's really very interesting because nobody used to speak about Epstein when he was alive," Trump continued. "But I'm the one who can talk about him because I've been totally exonerated. I did nothing. In fact, the opposite, because he was against me, and was fighting me in the election, which I just found out from the last 3 million pages of documents."Last month, the Trump administration released the latest tranche of documents related to the FBI's investigation of Epstein. The files contained several damning documents that called into question Trump's previous comments about his relationship with the convicted sex criminal. Trump's comments caused a stir on social media. "Making it about you when asked about Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal associates is telling on yourself."There has literally never been a guiltier-sounding person," Professor Adam Cochran posted on X. "Totally a normal answer you'd expect from someone who isn't at all concerned," Tom Nichols, staff writer at The Atlantic, posted on X. "This is totally how a completely uninvolved person would answer a question like this," Doug Saunders, international affairs columnist for The Globe and Mail, posted on X. "I’m shocked to hear that Trump doesn’t think powerful men should face accountability!" political commentator Molly Jong-Fast posted on X. DOOCY: On Prince Andrew, do you think American associates of Jeffrey Epstein will wind up in handcuffs too?TRUMP: I'm the expert in a way because I've been totally exonerated. That's very nice.
