Summary
A MAGA media figure is about to cause "a whole lot more drama" for President Donald Trump, according to one analyst. Last week, Tucker Carlson released an interview with Trump's ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, where he accused a former Israeli Prime Minister of visiting the infamous Epstein Island and other remarks that left pro-Israel Republicans steamed, Will Sommer at The Bulwark reported on Monday. For instance, pro-Israel voices like Laura Loomer and Dave Rubin spoke out against Carlson's interview. But that didn't stop Trump from inviting Carlson to the White House on Monday to accompany him in a meeting with oil company CEOs, Sommer noted. Even though Carlson's presence is a "thorny issue" for some in Trump's coalition, the MAGA media figure's continued presence "shows how little penalty there is for pushing storylines that not only make life tough for the administration but cause serious geopolitical drama," Sommer added. "Ultimately, Carlson’s perseverance in Trump’s orbit is a remarkable testament to his staying power," Sommer wrote. "Lesser media luminaries would have been pushed to the outskirts of punditry. The question now is how long the alliance between the administration and Carlson can hold." "After all, there are several major factions now tugging at Trump, including Israel supporters like Loomer and Ben Shapiro, and the Vance faction that Carlson is close to," he continued. "As 2028 gets closer, expect many more fights over the White House guest list—and a whole lot more drama."Read the entire report by clicking here.
