A figurehead of President Donald Trump's MAGA movement sounded off on Monday as the president's main crypto advisor's time in the administration came to an end. Last week, Trump's crypto czar, David Sacks, announced that he planned to leave the administration. Sacks had served in the administration as a special government employee, which limited the time he could spend in government and imposed ethics constraints on his role, Axios reported. Sacks's departure was announced at a time when Republicans and some MAGA fans are growing increasingly skeptical of the Trump administration's "all-in" strategy on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, both of which were spearheaded by Sacks, according to the report. Steve Bannon, a founder of the MAGA movement, took issue with Sacks's leadership in an interview with Axios."Sacks brought policies that have been resoundingly defeated — FULL STOP," Bannon said. Bannon's comments come at a time when Trump is facing significant scrutiny for his administration's policies. The latest public polling shows Trump's approval rating is at 33%, a historic low for a president in his second term. The polling has also made Republicans more nervous about the prospects of losing control of Congress following the 2026 midterm election.
