Conservative commentators Batya Ungar-Sargon and David Reaboi became the latest targets on Friday.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sparked mockery on Friday after he uncorked what some analysts described as an "absolutely insane" claim about what Kennedy referred to as the "most consequential crime" in American history. On Thursday, former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard posted a video on her professional X account that claimed to expose evidence that Anthony Fauci, the former chief medical advisor to the President, had committed crimes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kennedy retweeted the video and thanked Gabbard for "documenting Dr. Fauci's central role in causing the COVID-19 pandemic — among the most consequential crimes in human history."Kennedy's claims garnered swift mockery online. "An insane accusation from an insane man," Mehdi Hasan, founder of Zeteo News, posted on X. "If this was true (it's not), shouldn't we hold Trump responsible?" Steven Bonnel II, a political commentator who goes by the name "Destiny" online, posted on X. "My god. Bats--- f------ lunatics," Jeff Timmer, a senior advisor to Project Lincoln, posted on X. Thank you, Tulsi, for documenting Dr. Fauci's central role in causing the COVID-19 pandemic — among the most consequential crimes in human history. https://t.co/Mni91nFi3Y— Secretary Kennedy (@SecKennedy) June 19, 2026

Online records list two charges: continuous sexual abuse of a child and aggravated sexual battery.Other local officials were stunned by the allegations."As a government official where the alleged events occurred, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on this case," Millersville Mayor Lincoln Atwood said. "I have full confidence in those investigating these events. I also have full faith in our judicial system. No one is above the law.""These allegations are serious. My prayers are with all potential victims," Vice Mayor Dustin Darnall said. "I will remain committed to supporting all victims, especially victims of sexual abuse. California AG Bonta claims Trump weaponized the DOJ against Gov. Newsom, calling the federal probe political persecution despite California origins.
President Donald Trump has sparked a diplomatic crisis with Italy after insulting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on television. The president told an Italian TV channel Meloni “begged” to take a picture with him. “She wanted a picture with me so badly. I wouldn’t have taken it, but I felt sorry for her,” Trump said, according to Reuters.Meloni responded with her own video, captioned, “Io e l’Italia non imploriamo mai,” which translates to “Neither I nor Italy ever beg.”Io e l’Italia non imploriamo mai. pic.twitter.com/sTpKlqWB67— Giorgia Meloni (@GiorgiaMeloni) June 19, 2026“Donald Trump’s statements are completely made up,” Meloni said, writes Reuters. “I am frankly astonished. I don’t know why the president of the United States behaves like this towards his allies: It is not the first time, moreover.”Trump’s flippant comment had immediate diplomatic consequences. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani canceled his upcoming trip to the U.S., writing on X, “The serious and offensive words of President Trump towards Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni offend all of Italy,” according to the platform’s translation.Other Italian politicians are also coming forward in support of Meloni, including Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini.“Whoever attacks @GiorgiaMeloni attacks all of us,” Salvini wrote, as translated by X.Trump and the right-wing Meloni used to be close allies but recently sparred over Trump’s tirades against Pope Leo.Italian Senator Giovanbattista Fazzolari, Meloni’s political ally, put it well: “It is unclear whether out of intent or ineptitude [Trump] is wrecking the historic relations between the United States and Europe,” he told Reuters.
The Italian government is pushing back against President Trump, with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni accusing him of making up a story about her begging for a photo at the Group of Seven (G7) summit, and the country’s top diplomat canceling a visit to the U.S. in protest. In an extraordinary rebuke, Meloni posted a video on…
Two U.S. officials told Axios on Friday that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to a renewed ceasefire in Lebanon, but clashes continued even after it was supposed to be in effect.Hezbollah sources told Reuters the group would observe the ceasefire, but a spokesperson for Israel's military declined to confirm its participation. Why it matters: The continued fighting between Israel and Hezbollah led to the postponement of U.S.-Iran talks planned for Friday. U.S. officials hope the talks can now be launched. The conflict has displaced more than one million people and Israel is still occupying a swath of southern Lebanon. The U.S.-Iran deal includes a ceasefire in Lebanon, but Israeli officials have raised doubts about their commitment to any such truce. Political allies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have openly attacked the deal.Tehran claimed Israel's attacks in Lebanon on Thursday morning were a violation of the U.S.-Iran MOU.Driving the news: A senior U.S. official told Axios the renewed ceasefire in Lebanon was mediated by the U.S. and Qatar and went into effect at 4pm local time (9am ET). But in the hour after the ceasefire was supposed to come into effect, the Israeli military conducted strikes in southern Lebanon and Hezbollah launched drones towards northern Israel. What they're saying: "Netanyahu approved it 100%," the senior U.S. official said. Netanyahu's office has not confirmed that, and the military spokesperson, Efi Defrin, said the ceasefire was a matter for political leadership and he could not confirm.Defrin stressed that Israeli forces would stay in southern Lebanon and operate against threats. Two Hezbollah sources told Reuters the group considered the truce to now be in effect. How it happened: On Thursday afternoon, President Trump, the speaker of Lebanon's parliament and the Israeli ambassador to Lebanon all expressed commitment to the ceasefire in Lebanon. But several hours later, on Thursday night, Hezbollah conducted several attacks on Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, killing at least 4 Israeli soldiers. Israel responded with massive strikes on Hezbollah targets across Lebanon. That led to the postponement of the U.S.-Iran talks, which were to be held in Switzerland.A spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry confirmed the postponement and said the conditions for negotiations had yet to be met. "Holding the said meeting in Switzerland is not urgent, but we are planning to hold a meeting in the coming days," he said.Go deeper: Trump tells "The Axios Show" there are "no limits" to his power after Iran war
During an interview with Axios' Marc Caputo, U.S. President Donald Trump discussed his ceasefire deal with Iran. Caputo asked Trump about the "limits" on his power, and his response is generating a lot of discussion on social media — some of it quite negative.Caputo asked Trump, "What have you learned about not just the exercise of power, but the limits of your power, as a result of the conflict?" The U.S. president responded, "There are no limits. No, none. I haven't learned that lesson yet. I know there are."The liberal group Call to Activism, started by activist Joe Gallina, found the "no limits" disturbing."This should frighten us all," Call to Activism warned on X.Journalist Jeff Yang tweeted, "Through a series of blunders, Trump's ability to govern has been severely weakened. He is becoming a de facto lame duck even in his second year in office. Bragging about his unlimited power is mere swanking to hide his incapacitated status."Gregory Haynes, CEO of Point of Success Workforce Solutions, posted, "Had Obama or Biden said this RW media & Republicans would be out in the streets with 'Pitchforks and Torches.' And they would be RIGHT to do so. No President who took an Oath to …Preserve,Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States, should be saying that there are no limits to his power."The conservative group Republicans Against Trump noted that when Caputo said Trump's Iran deal "doesn't look like unconditional surrender," he responded, "Well, it really probably is unconditional surrender."X user Peter Toolan commented, "Remind the @POTUS we still have checks and balances regardless if you want to be king."Another X user, Amma Opoku, wrote, "He lives in Cloud cuckoo land… he lies…. He just can’t help himself and I just wonder whether he has a best friend in his life who will tell him the truth and say to him look you gotta stop lying . Why doesn’t his wife or his children say anything. It’s baffling to me."Former Republican Debi Ganster argued, "Republicans are responsible for this. They gave up their own power and turned it over to him. Remove every single one of them."
