Pam Bondi gets shot across the bow on CNN as she tries to escape Epstein testimony

Summary
Former Attorney General Pam Bondi received a shot across the bow on Wednesday during a segment on CNN. Bondi has been under fire for attempting to avoid being deposed next week regarding the Department of Justice's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files. She was removed from her job last week amid ongoing tensions between the White House and the DOJ over the handling of the files. On Wednesday, the Department of Justice said Bondi will not testify before the House Oversight Committee next week as planned. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who sits on the committee, told CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead" that they still have the votes to get Bondi to testify. Not only that, but Bondi may have to appear anyway because of how the subpoena compelling her testimony was written. "I'm confident Pam Bondi will eventually show up. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and I drafted the subpoena, and it was for Pam Bondi as an individual, not Pam Bondi as Attorney General," Khanna said. Khanna also noted that Republicans appear to be playing games with Bondi's testimony, considering how they chased after Hillary and Bill Clinton's testimony. "We still have the votes to get her to be able to testify. And we'll have another vote," Khanna said. "Look, I know Jim Comer. I like him on a personal basis, but he was Captain Ahab in chasing Hillary Clinton to testify. And Hillary Clinton has been out of office for 20 years. So certainly he can have Pam Bondi come and testify and answer why they haven't released the Epstein files."
