Kimmel warns Trump's devised new plot to bury woes — and it's 'most dangerous of all'

Summary
Jimmy Kimmel blasted Donald Trump late Monday for using an election bill to distract from his administration's failures. The president hopes to push a restrictive election bill through Congress in time for the midterm elections, though he faces strong opposition from the Democratic Party and even members of the Republican Party. Should the bill be passed into law, mail-in votes would be restricted, and voter ID would be mandatory before a person could cast their vote.Late-night host Kimmel has since mocked the president for trying to push through the legislature in the hope it would distract from the war in Iran and also consolidate power in the midterms.Kimmel said, "Probably the most dangerous one of all is his plan to fix the election. Trump gathered a group of Republicans today and told them to forget everything else, pass the Save My A-- act, I mean Save America Act."The talk show host dubbed Trump the "Commander in Thief" and, after reading Truth Social posts from Trump claiming he would refuse to sign any bills into law until his act is passed, broke down why Trump has been so keen to pass the election bill.Kimmel added, "Trump wants to make it as difficult for Democrats to vote as he possibly can under the guise of stopping voter fraud, even though there is no meaningful voter fraud. There is no evidence that anyone — more Americans were eaten by wolves last year than voted fraudulently, this is about fixing the election."He made a big mess in Iran and it looks like we bombed a school and he's lying about it. There are three-hour lines at the airport because Democrats want ICE agents to follow the same rules as every other law enforcement officer has to follow."His poll numbers are abysmal, the price of gas is going through the roof and, of course, there's the little matter of those allegations in the Trump-Epstein files and so to protect himself from losing the Senate and the House and probably getting impeached, he wants to change the rules of voting to make it more difficult for everyone, especially women, to vote."Kimmel went on to point out Trump has, in the past, voted by mail himself.
