Kash Patel just killed any hope of loyalty from his FBI colleagues: expert

Summary
FBI Director Kash Patel just killed any remaining hope of earning the loyalty of his colleagues at the bureau, according to one expert. Glenn Kirschner, a former DOJ prosecutor, said during a new episode of his podcast, "Justice Matters," on Monday, that Patel's latest effort to force his FBI colleagues to take polygraph exams about leaks from the agency is almost guaranteed to backfire. Kirschner argued that the move shows Patel is becoming increasingly paranoid and that his leadership is eroding the FBI's mission. "The best way to destroy trust, and to kill any hope of loyalty, [is to] order lie detector tests for your teammates, for your subordinates, for the people you supervise," Kirschner said. "Presume them all guilty. Put them on the box. That's what we call a polygraph examination ... This will backfire, and it will almost certainly inspire more leaking about Patel's exploits."Recent reports have painted Patel's leadership in a negative light. For instance, The Atlantic recently reported that Patel is frequently absent from work and often drinks to excess while working. The outlet also reported on Kash Patel's personally-branded whiskey that he has given to FBI agents. "I have a feeling Patel's days as FBI director are numbered," Kirschner said. "He may be the third cabinet official that [President Donald] Trump introduces to the undercarriage of a bus after Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi."
