It 'doesn't end well' for Pirro as she keeps failing to make Trump happy: NYT reporter

Summary
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s inability to make a criminal case out of President Joe Biden’s use of the autopen –– a device used by all presidents –– has put her on a collision course with Donald Trump. On Wednesday, it was reported by the New York Times that the collapsed Biden case is the “latest example of its increasing inability to follow through on Mr. Trump’s demands and bring indictments against those he wants to be criminally targeted.”Appearing on MS NOW on Thursday morning, the Times’ Michael Schmidt told the hosts that Pirro has been put in an untenable position by the president who has been pressuring her to proceed with indictments that she knows have no chance of getting past a grand jury.As Schmidt noted, he has seen this play out before when Trump is not mollified, and the future does not look bright for the former Fox News personality.Pointing to the failed investigation into Biden, co-host Willie Geist asked, “How did it all fall apart?”“They couldn't find a law, you know, to hang this thing on,” Schmidt pointed out before adding, “Look, this is a story about the inability to bring the case against Biden. But this is also a story about how the Trump Justice Department continues to fail to do what Donald Trump wants it to do. He wanted the Justice Department to seek retribution and vengeance against those people who he didn't like. He wanted them indicted and put in jail. And in most cases so far, we have seen them struggle to do that. They struggled on the six [Democratic lawmakers] who Trump accused of sedition. They struggled on [ex-FBI Director James] Comey and [NY AG Letitia] James.”After explaining that Trump’s retribution campaign has run into “roadblock after roadblock,” Schmidt was asked if Pirro is aware she is taking on losing cases. “I think Jeanine Pirro seems to have a larger understanding of maybe how the world works,” he told the hosts and then suggested, “I think that Jeanine Pirro is trying to straddle that line between being Donald Trump's, you know, U.S. attorney in a really important office while trying to, you know, keep things on track. I think that's really difficult. I've watched people try and do that now for, you know, two different terms, and usually it doesn't end well.” - YouTube youtu.be
