Summary
Former Customs and Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino is facing another investigation over his behavior while on duty, according to a new report. The Guardian reported on Tuesday that Bovino is being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security for alleged "unprofessional comments" that he made during a conference call with state prosecutors. During the call, Bovino allegedly derided Daniel Rosen's observance of Shabbat, the weekly period of rest for Jewish people that lasts between Friday at sunset through Saturday at sunset. Bovino also allegedly made a comment about the "chosen people" directed at Rosen, according to the report. This is the second investigation into Bovino that was launched this week. On Monday, the Hennepin County, Minnesota District Attorney launched a criminal investigation into Bovino for his actions during "Operation Metro Surge," an operation that killed two American citizens — Alex Pretti and Renee Good. DHS said the Hennepin County investigation is "unlawful" because "federal officials acting in the course of their duties are immune from liability under state law."Read the entire report by clicking here.
