Summary
A 19-year-old New York man said Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, or ICE agents, beat him on a Bronx street on Wednesday before admitting they had targeted the wrong person. Jeury Concepción required stitches and suffered a concussion following the encounter. He recalled how the agents did not identify themselves before the assault, adding, "They just grabbed me and threw me on the floor and started hurting me." He then displayed the large gash on his face. Video of the incident showed agents handcuffing the bleeding man as bystanders shouted. Jordan Salvador was present when Concepción was beaten. He described the ICE agents as "very barbaric" and "super unprofessional.""You know, your job is to find undocumented people," Salvador said, adding, "I get that, but it's just, there's ways to go about it."The agents only requested Concepción's identification after placing him in their vehicle, at which point they acknowledged their error and released him. Concepción said he plans to report the incident.Watch the video below. Your browser does not support the video tag.
